On 1 December 2017, new Regulations with regards to non-workplace LPG installations came into effect (EPA Hazardous Property Controls Notice 2017). These Regulations require non-workplace properties holding between 100kg and 300kg of LPG to have a compliance plaque*. This replaces the previous Regulations, where a location test certificate was required to be issued by a test certifier.
*A compliance plaque is a uniquely numbered sticker that is attached close to your LPG installation.
A non-workplace holding more than 300kg of LPG is required to have a location compliance certificate. This must be issued by a compliance certifier and you will be required to follow the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017, as discussed under Workplace. Your compliance certifier will notify the EPA once your location compliance certificate is issued.
